Till Death Do Us Part
The Hatchaway Family came from Georgia, Clearance Hatchaway was a wealthy landowner - his wife Eleanor and their young daughter Constance.
As a child, Constance was tutored how to be a proper woman and dutiful wife . Constance latched on to these dreams, hopeful that one day they would be lifted up from her boring confines of being a proper lady, finding her true love and living the high life.
All that changed after the Civil War when the slaves were free and the Hatchaways were penniless. They would have starved if not when Constance turned 18 and forced her into an arranged marriage with a successful farmer Amerose Harper of Omaha, Nebraska. The Harpers had made their earnings as farmers. Marcus and Abigail thought they were a perfect match for their daughter. Constance would have rebelled but being raised a proper lady and fearing poverty than being forced into an arranged marriage with Ambrose she begrudgingly agreed. The couple were married in the spring of 1869.
That night the newlyweds retired to the farmhouse. The next morning, Constance turned up at the sheriff's office in a panic. She claimed that a madman had murdered Ambrose on their wedding night.
Weeks passed, a cycle began repeating in the next decade. Becoming a socialite, Constance ingrained herself in the local aristocracy, mingling with the upper crusts. First was Frank Banks, a respected banker and pillar of Boston. The Marquis de Doom, a visiting foreign diplomat of Peking, China, Reginald Caine, a railroad baron, and Geroge Hightower. Shortly after the wedding, all the men she married were found with their heads severed from their shoulders. Some assumed it was a tragic accident, others murder.
It wasn't until Constance heard the news that William Gracey had renovated a grand estate with no expense, but was already betrothed to Emily. “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” as the old saying goes. So Constance began hatching a scheme to dispose of her rival and acquire the Gracey fortune for herself. It was on the eve of the wedding when Constance followed Emily up to the attic. Where she ambushed her and placed her body inside a trunk.
After Emily's fatal accident, Constance dawned on her wedding dress to discussed herself as Gracey's deceased bride to be. William believing it to be his beloved back from the dead, followed her up in the attic. Constance lunged at William with her ax, only to have a struggle between the two of them. Gracey over powered Constance and pushed her out of the attic window to her death.
After her demise, Constance still haunts part of the attic and waits to get her hands on the Gracey fortune.
